As always we're doing our best to keep as many bottles in stock as possible. While we can not guarantee that a particle bottle or vintage of Suntory whisky will be in stock we can give a reasonable guarantee that three great bottles from Nikka Distillery will be available:

Attention Japanese Whisky Lovers,

Many visitors coming to Kyoto are familiar with the incredible whiskies from Suntory such as the Yamazaki, Hakushu, and Hibiki. We've been happy to provide these amazing Japanese whiskies and we're doing our best to keep them on the shelf (a big challenge!). However Suntory is not the only Japanese distiller crafting delicious Japanese whisky. Nikka Whisky has many fantastic bottles and today we will talk about The Nikka 12 Years Old Premium Blended Whisky.

The Nikka 12 years old is quite simply a superbly well-balanced blend. It's good enough to sip and be enjoyed neat. This is a high quality whisky. The blend is the product of single malt whiskies from Nikka's Yoichi and Miyagikyo distillers as well as their renowned Coffey grain whisky. The asymmetric bottle design was inspired by the neck of the Japanese kimono. Buy this bottle while you're in Japan because it's still waiting on its international debut! This whisky is currently only available in Japan.

Here are the tasting notes from thewhiskyexchange.com:

• Nose: Punchy and spicy, with green peppercorns battling it out with red fruits, butterscotch and nutmeg. Precise and poised.
• Palate: Rich, clean fruit – greengages and Granny Smith apples. Vibrant fruit-cake notes with a hint of toffee and sweet spice to smooth things out.
• Finish: Very fresh despite the richness, this is a class act. Refreshing and moreish.
• Comment: Beautifully balanced between tempting sweetness and refreshing fruit. Lovely stuff.
